Department- Home Science

The department of Home Science Being a multidisciplinary subject, a varied spectrum of courses were included in the curriculum of Home Science, the subjects being taught are Food and Nutrition, Resource Management ,Extension and Communication, Textiles and Clothing, and Child Development with emphasis on Interior Decoration, Child Psychology, Ergonomics, Biochemistry, Dietetics etc.

Home Science department conducts orientation program every year keeping in view the overall development of students. Home Science society encourages students for various co-curricular activities; moreover a cottage program is being run for PG students where in-house training in various fields of Home Science is given to them.

The students who have passed from Home Science department have been working at different academic and non- academic positions in various organizations and institutions.

HOME SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

 

Program outcome: By the end of the program the student must be able todevelop and enhance continually his financial quotient so that he can meet thechallenges faced in the dynamic world of economics. Apart from subjectiveknowledge prescribed in the curriculum, practical knowledge is imparted to thestudents by discussing present trends in the economy.

A graduate student will possess after completion of thedegree of Bachelor of Arts are:

PO-1

The students acquire knowledge in the field of social sciences, literature and humanities which make them sensitive and sensible enough.

PO-2

The B.A. graduates will be acquainted with the social, economical, historical, geographical, political, ideological and philosophical tradition and thinking

PO-3

The program also empowers the graduates to appear for various competitive examinations or choose the post graduate program of their choice

PO-4

The B. A. program enables the students to aquire the knowledge with human values framing the base to deal with various problems in life with courage and humanity.

PO-5

The students will be ignited enough to think and act over for the solution of various issues prevailed in the human life and provide a base for them to become responsible citizen.

ü Students will be able to acquire basichistorical research skills including effective use of archives, library anddata bases.

ü Understanding how different individuals, groups,organizations and nations have affected history. It also gives students wisdomand foresight for the future.

ü Acquire the ability to apply historical methodsto evaluate critically the past and how historians and other have interpretedit.
